Annual Leave (Vacation)

Employees are eligible for 30 calendar days of annual leave, fully paid at their regular salary through standard payroll management. This leave entitlement is granted after completing six months of continuous service with the organization. Unused leave can be rolled over into the next year.

  • June 5, 2025 (Thursday): Eid al-Adha (Tentative, subject to moon sighting)
  • June 6, 2025 (Friday): Eid al-Adha Holiday (Tentative, subject to moon sighting)
  • June 7, 2025 (Saturday): Eid al-Adha Holiday (Tentative, subject to moon sighting)

Sick Days

Maternity Leave

Oman offers female employees paid maternity leave under both the Labor Law and the Civil Service Law.

  • Private Sector: The Labor Law (Article 83, Part 5) provides for 50 days of fully paid maternity leave, which can be taken before and after childbirth. This benefit is available to an employee for up to three separate pregnancies while employed by the same organization.
  • Public Sector: Civil Service Law No. 120/2004 allows female employees to take maternity leave for up to five times throughout their entire career in the public sector. Similar to the private sector, public sector employees receive their full salary during their maternity leave.

Bereavement Leave

  • Immediate Family : Employees are granted three days of leave for the passing of a parent, spouse, sibling, grandparent, or child.
  • Extended Family : In the case of an aunt or uncle's death, two days of leave are allocated.
  • Spouse's Death : A working Muslim woman receives extended leave (130 days) upon the loss of her husband.

Personal Leave

  • Wedding Leave : Employees are entitled to three days of leave to celebrate their wedding.
  • Hajj Pilgrimage : Employees have the opportunity to take a 15-day leave to perform the Hajj pilgrimage once during their employment, following one year of service.

Educational Leave 

Employees pursuing studies at accredited institutions within Oman can request up to 15 days of leave.
