The Challenge
UAE-based. Crypto funds. Three new markets.
Pi Technologies Inc( Pi Tech), headquartered in the UAE, wanted to build out a team across Vietnam, the Philippines, and India. Their funds were held in crypto assets. They had no entity or employment infrastructure in any of the three markets.
The problem was bigger than payments. Hiring across three countries in Southeast and South Asia, each with its own employment laws, tax structures, and compliance requirements, requires decisions that go beyond who to pay and how. Get the employment structure wrong in one market, and you have a liability. Hire under the wrong classification, and it catches up with you. Enter a market without understanding the cost implications, and the expansion gets expensive fast.
Pi Technologies needed more than an off-ramp. They needed a partner who understood what it actually costs and what it takes to set up a team in each of these markets and could execute across all three.

The Solution
Off-ramp, employment setup, and expansion done right.
Gloroots took on the full scope: off-ramping Pi Technologies' crypto funds and converting to local currencies across Vietnam, the Philippines, and India, while setting up compliant employment for the employee and contractor arrangements in each market.
The engagement went further than execution. Gloroots worked with Pi Technologies on the structure of the expansion itself, which employment model to use in each market, how to keep costs from escalating, and how to stay compliant across three regulatory environments at the same time. The expansion was set up correctly from the start, not corrected after the fact.
The Results
3 markets. Crypto to local currency. Strategic from day one.
- Employees and contractors set up compliantly across Vietnam, the Philippines, and India
- Crypto funds off-ramped and converted to local currencies in each market
- Employment structures designed to be compliant and cost-effective across three jurisdictions
- Expansion into all three geographies handled without Pi Technologies building local entities
