About
OLOID is a passwordless identity and authentication platform specifically designed for frontline (deskless) workers and shared-device environments across industries like manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and pharmaceuticals. The company provides secure, frictionless access to both digital applications and physical workplace resources such as time clocks and entry doors by replacing traditional passwords with biometrics, QR codes, NFC cards, and existing RFID employee badges.
By integrating with existing HRIS, Single Sign-On (SSO), and physical access control systems, OLOID helps organisations eliminate password fatigue, minimise IT overhead, and boost cybersecurity without requiring brand-new hardware.
The Challenge
Right person in Toronto. No Canadian entity. Layered payroll obligations.
Oloid, based in the US, had found the right person for the role, and that person was in Toronto. No Canadian entity meant no direct hire path. That was the first problem.
The second was payroll. Employment in Canada, and Ontario specifically, involves multiple layers of deductions and statutory submissions: CPP contributions, EI premiums, federal and provincial income tax, and employer obligations under Ontario's Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. Each has its own rates, deadlines, and submission requirements. Getting any of them wrong in amount or in timing creates compliance exposure and back-corrections that take time to untangle.
Oloid needed a partner who could employ their Toronto hire correctly from day one, with every deduction accurate and every submission on time.

The Solution
Compliant hire. Every deduction right. Every submission on time.
Gloroots acted as the Employer of Record in Canada, handling the full employment setup for Oloid's Toronto-based hire with all statutory benefits in place.
On the payroll side, Gloroots managed every deduction CPP, EI, and federal and provincial tax accurately each cycle, and submitted to the relevant authorities on time. Oloid had no compliance exposure and no back-office overhead on the Canada side.
The Results
1 hire. Toronto. Accurate payroll from day one.
- Toronto-based employee hired compliantly for a US company with no Canadian entity
- Full statutory benefits in place: CPP, EI, and provincial coverage from day one
- Federal and provincial tax deductions calculated and processed every cycle accurately
- All statutory submissions made on time with zero compliance gaps
