Position Overview

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Technical Architect will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable and robust solutions that integrate cloud infrastructures, IoT ecosystems, and AI capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to build impactful products that will change the use of smart technologies in the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Architecture and Development:
  • Assist in designing and implementing scalable, efficient, and secure system architectures to support our SaaS platform.
  • Contribute to coding and development efforts, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and efficient solutions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate AI/ML components for advanced analytics and automation features.
• Smart Device Integration:
  • Work on protocols and APIs to integrate smart devices such as smart locks, thermostats, and lighting systems into the SaaS platform.
  • Ensure robust and seamless communication between the platform and IoT devices.
• Customer Collaboration:
  • Act as a technical point of contact for customers, understanding their requirements and translating them into actionable technical solutions.
  • Provide support during onboarding and implementation to ensure customer success and satisfaction.
• Startup Culture and Collaboration:
  • Wear multiple hats and contribute to various aspects of the product lifecycle, from ideation to deployment.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and marketing, to ensure alignment with company goals.

Required Skills:

• Full Stack Expertise: High level of proficiency in front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js), back-end languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, or Java). Exposure to mobile technologies (Android / iOS) is desirable
• Cloud Technologies: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Should have directly managed or been actively part of the team that managed SaaS products at scale involving 24x7 availability, reliability and performance
• IoT: Familiarity with IoT protocols, device communication, and working with IoT platforms or ecosystems is desirable
• AI/ML: Good understanding of AI/ML concepts, with experience integrating pre-trained models or APIs.
• Database Management: High level of proficiency in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) with knowledge on security and optimization
• APIs: Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs, SOAP, GraphQL, or WebSocket-based systems.
• Security: Knowledge of application and data security best practices in cloud and IoT environments.
• Standards: Should have experience in setting the development standards and processes for the team.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders, with the ability to work collaboratively across a distributed team.
