Position Overview

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Network & Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing secure, scalable network infrastructures across both device-level and enterprise environments. This role will play a critical part in enabling seamless communication between edge devices and the cloud, supporting internal IT operations, and ensuring the reliability of field-deployed systems. It offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of IoT, networking, and cloud technologies, contributing to the growth of a connected, remote-first engineering ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage device-level and enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/VPN).
• ⁠Set up and maintain secure communication protocols for IoT/edge devices (e.g., MQTT, HTTPs, CoAP).
• ⁠Troubleshoot field-deployed network issues (SIM-based devices, cellular gateways, remote access).
• ⁠Collaborate with firmware and cloud teams to optimize device-cloud data flow.
• ⁠Implement network monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Wireshark) and alerting systems.
• ⁠Configure and manage firewall rules, VPNs, and NAT policies for remote connectivity.
• ⁠Assist in provisioning, onboarding, and secure connectivity of new device deployments
• Manage company IT assets, including laptops, IoT devices, and cloud accounts
• Maintain accurate inventory and tracking of all issued hardware and software assets
• Support remote employees with setup, troubleshooting, and ongoing asset-related issues
• Coordinate shipping, delivery, and return of devices for remote team members
• Ensure proper configuration and security compliance of all IT assets before deployment

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, NAT, DHCP, DNS)
• Hands-on experience with configuring and managing enterprise network infrastructure
• Proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting secure communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, HTTPs, CoAP) for IoT and edge devices
• Experience with cellular networks, SIM-based devices, and remote access solutions
• Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and Wireshark
• Working knowledge of firewall configuration, VPN setup, and NAT policies
• Ability to collaborate across firmware, hardware, and cloud engineering teams
• Experience managing IT assets (laptops, IoT devices, cloud accounts) and maintaining inventory systems
• Proficiency in remote IT support, including hardware setup, shipping logistics, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of IT security best practices for endpoint provisioning and asset compliance
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system reliability and support
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a distributed, remote-first team environment
