Position Overview

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will own end-to-end delivery of complex, user-facing features — from architecture design to production. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to build scalable, high-quality frontend solutions on the company's research and insights platform. This is a technical leadership role where you will shape frontend architecture and raise the bar for the entire engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade frontend applications using TypeScript, React, and Next.js with full ownership of code quality and performance
• Lead frontend architecture decisions including state management, API integration patterns, rendering strategies, pagination, and caching for high-traffic user-facing surfaces
• Own the frontend CI/CD pipeline and continuously improve testing, code review, and release readiness practices
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate business goals into high-quality user experiences
• Set and enforce frontend standards through thoughtful code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and promoting best practices in testing and accessibility
• Monitor frontend systems in production — tracking performance, stability, and driving continuous improvement across user-facing applications
• Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements, manage UX vs. delivery trade-offs, and define realistic delivery milestones

Must Have Criteria

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on frontend development
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building production applications with TypeScript, React, and Next.js
• Solid fundamentals in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — including responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Proven experience owning a frontend codebase end-to-end: code quality, performance optimization, and reliable production releases at scale
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and modern development workflows including automated testing
• Experience integrating frontend applications with GraphQL APIs
• Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers or leading frontend technical decisions on a team

Nice to Have

• Experience with Nx monorepo tooling and component-driven development using Storybook
• Familiarity with frontend observability and performance monitoring tools
• Experience building internationalized (i18n) applications for multi-region or multi-language audiences
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive UI development practices
• Prior experience in a SaaS, data platform, or research/analytics product company
