Position Overview

We're seeking a Backend Engineer (SDE-2) to design and build scalable backend services that power our healthcare platform. You'll own key modules end-to-end, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help drive engineering best practices as we scale from 10 to 100.

Role & Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services with focus on performance and reliability
Own and deliver well-scoped features end-to-end from design to deployment
Contribute to technical design discussions and translate product requirements into scalable solutions
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with proper testing and documentation
Improve system performance, reliability, and observability through monitoring, logging, and alerting
Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams to deliver high-quality features
Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices while debugging production issues

Must Have Criteria

3+ years of backend development experience at B2C product companies
Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js, Java, Python, or Go)
Solid understanding of PostgreSQL database design and optimization
Experience with Redis caching implementation and management
Hands-on experience with message queues (SQS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka)
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs serving consumer-facing applications
Working knowledge of AWS cloud services, Docker, and basic Kubernetes concepts

Nice to Have

Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or e-commerce domains
Understanding of system design fundamentals including scalability and fault tolerance
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools
Previous startup or fast-scaling company experience
